This Memorial Garden, in memory of those who died in the First World, is situated on a hill just behind Buxton’s main shopping street. It was created by my Sister-in-Law, Caroline Davenport, a designer. The poppy shape of the garden is, of course, symbolic. It is planted with: thyme, twisted hazel, poppy, hyssop, pansy and forget-me-not. If you are in the area the garden is worth viewing: a quiet place to sit and think.
This visit was in September 2014.
